Meet Clare Toohey, editor of Deadly Debut: Murder New York Style

Clare Toohey CLARE TOOHEY  helped found and manages CriminalElement.com, an online community for crime fans of every subgenre, era, and medium. Her short stories appear in the Murder New York Style anthologies Fresh Slices and Family Mattersand Feeding Kate crime anthologies, the latter of which she co-edited. She also edited St. Martins Press’s inaugural e-collection of short crime fiction, the award-winning “Girl Trouble” issue of The Malfeasance Occasional (aka The M.O.). She’s served as president of the New York/Tri-State Chapter of Sisters in Crime, is the current Anthology Chair, and also serves as board member and Program Chair for the NY chapter of Mystery Writers of America. She’s also worked as a freelance editor, helping with everything from pitches to social media, web copy to brand strategy. She’s a New England sports fan, an online gadabout, and friendly contrarian.
